Replace the Compressor No Pressure Differential

Replace the Compressor*

Verify that the refrigerant pressures are not being equalized through the refrigerant gauges or reversing valve before replacing a compressor.

* Compressors operating with little to no pressure differential is an indication bad valves, an open internal pressure relief valve, a broken scroll plate or a drive shaft failure.  If you have not followed the “With Compressor Off” steps, equalized refrigerant pressure could be the result of very little or no refrigerant in the system.
